ATHNreport Spring 2009 - ATHN.data.quality.counts

$500,000 in Funding for Data Management to be Announced at the ATHN Data Summit 2009

The ATHN Board of Directors has authorized a second round of funding for ATHN Affiliate HTCs across the country to

  • secure complete and accurate core data (e.g., demographics, diagnoses, coagulation medications, surgeries, laboratory tests, contact information and insurance) for use in the ATHNdataset, disaster preparedness, and patient management beyond annual visits;
  • support WebTracker users to increase the amount and/or quality of their data beyond the core;
  • jumpstart data collection using WebTracker by centers that are not currently users of Lab Tracker.

The round two funding cycle will be announced at the ATHN Data Summit 2009. The agenda includes a special breakout session on July 31st – ATHNdata.quality.counts Grant Guidance – to introduce the new ATHN online grant application process. The session will provide tips and other advice from reviewers to assist HTCs in constructing a successful application. Visit www.athn.org/summit for more details about the Grant Guidance breakout session.

The ATHNdata.quality.counts program awarded $490,042 in 2008 to ATHN Affiliates. For a list of last year’s winners visit www.athn.org/data–quality–counts.
