ATHNreport Spring 2009 - Opening
Amazing progress continues to be made toward the development of a secure national health information infrastructure for the bleeding disorders community. The commitment to collaborate is growing and taking hold, and is most evident in the number of HTCs now signed on as ATHN Affiliates. As of today, 104 out of 127 HTCs – 82% of all HTCs – are now ATHN Affiliates.
Momentum is building as ATHN gears up to celebrate the launch of WebTracker and to release new ATHNready disaster preparedness tools for providers and patients at the second annual ATHN Data Summit, scheduled for July 30th and 31st in Chicago. Due to popular demand we have scheduled another hands on WebTracker training session Friday, July 31st from 1 to 3:30 PM.
We hope you can join us. This year’s agenda is full of data-rich sessions, take-away resources for HTCs and new funding opportunities. Registration is easy, simply visit www.athn.org/summit.
For the second year in a row, ATHN is offering an ATHN Data Summit travel stipend of up to $500 for any ATHN Affiliate in need – no questions asked. (One per ATHN Affiliate.)
Attend the Data Summit 2009 and learn more about
- the progress of the ATHNdataset,
- the new funding cycle for data management awards through the ATHNdata.quality.counts program,

At the Data Summit 2009, ATHN will provide real-world resources to help providers and patients get ready and be prepared in the event of a disaster or emergency. Drawing on best practices of centers across the country, ATHN has developed the ATHNready Care Continuity Plan template to help HTCs build their own plan. And new ATHNready tools will be released and available, including
- The ATHNready Personal Health Report on a wallet-sized flash drive containing core medical information for patients that can be generated directly from WebTracker and
- an interactive HTC Finder complete with driving instructions to all HTCs.
