ATHN’s strength resides in the prestigious and broad-based group of people that come together to form the network organization.
- Board of Directors comprised of 18 members representing ATHN Affiliates, consumers, the CDC Division of Blood Disorders and the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI).
- ATHN Affiliates, HTCs located across the country working together to create a robust community resource
- Committees, eleven in all, involving more than 60 individuals in 2009
- Project Review Panels drawing on experts on an ad hoc basis
- Community Liaison Group representing not-for-profit consumer organizations, professional associations and government entities
What binds the people is the dream of a community resource that answers the tough questions, helps link medical interventions with clinical outcomes, provides evidence needed for clinical guidelines, and consolidates scarce resources.
